Fall Ginko

I painted these tranquil ginko leaves in soft greens and gold with a subtle plum background and gold metallic accents. This striking hand painted habotai silk scarf measures 14″X72″ with a hand rolled hem. I dyed this beautiful scarf using professional grade dyes, then steam set the piece to bond the dyes to the silk.
Habotai silk is also called “China Silk”, it is very lightweight and breezy. This piece is 8mm Habotai silk with a hand rolled hem, and has a bit more shine than Crepe de Chine. It’s great for adding a pop of color without being too warm.

Care: Silk is a protein, like your hair. When needed, wash in cool water with a few drops of shampoo. Rinse, and roll up in a big fluffy towel to remove the rest of the water (never ring silk, the fibers are strong but short and wringing may damage your silk). I like to iron my pieces on silk setting, no steam to finish drying. But, if you’re allergic to ironing, you can simply hang your scarf to finish drying.
